With more than 15 years in the industry and over 8 years leading Laura Detwiler Events, I’ve built my career around a passion for designing and orchestrating unforgettable experiences from start to finish.

Laura Detwiler – Owner, Executive Planner, & Designer
Over the years, my team and I have had the privilege of planning weddings and events at some of the area’s most iconic venues including The Ringling Museum of Art, The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota, Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, and Powel Crosley Estate, along with many other celebrated properties across Sarasota and Tampa Bay.
My goal is simple: to give you complete peace of mind so you can fully immerse yourself in the joy of your day and create memories that last a lifetime.
Fun Fact: I have done 3 half-marathons!
ASHLEY MISNER
Senior Planner & Creative Designer
Ashley knew she wanted to be a wedding planner after LDE actually planned her own wedding at Powel Crosley Estate 3 years ago and she joined right then!
Her favorite moment in the planning journey is the Design Presentation—the time when we pull inspiration, textures, and curated pieces from all over to bring the couple’s dream wedding to life in a way that feels immersive, intentional, and uniquely theirs.
Fun Fact: She has a bachelor degree in Marine Biology.
KATIE FOLTZ
Lead Planner
Katie has been with LDE for 5 years.
Her favorite part of a wedding is getting to know the couple—their story, their background, and what brought them here—and diving into the early brainstorming stage where all the unique details begin to take shape.
Fun Fact: She is the youngest of 7 kids.
SAMANTHA LITTLEJOHN
Assistant Planner
Sam has been with LDE since
the first event planned.
She’s a true fashionista with an incredible eye for color, texture, and composition—she loves bringing fresh combinations together and has a natural instinct for what looks beautiful and elevated.
Fun Fact: She owns a chicken farm.
KRISTIN HELMUTH
Assistant Planner & Details Coordinator
Kristin has been with LDE for 2 seasons now and is a Sarasota native.
Her favorite part of the process is bringing the vision to life on the wedding day—styling the florals, curating the mood boards, and creating the table designs that tie every detail together
Fun Fact: She used to be a hair product model on an HSN commercial.
RYDA STEGENGA
Lead Bridal Assistant
Ryda has been with LDE for 3 seasons now.
She knows exactly what to do and where to go when it comes to the client's needs on the day of the wedding. Her positive calm nature is perfect for all brides.
Fun Fact: She always needs to have a trip booked and tries for it to be somewhere new.
