I’ve built my career around a passion for designing and orchestrating unforgettable celebrations from start to finish.
With more than 15 years of experience in the event industry, my career began in downtown Chicago before bringing that experience to Sarasota, Florida, where I’ve led Laura Detwiler Events for the past 9 years. Known for my creativity, attention to detail, and highly organized approach, I take pride in thoughtfully managing every element while keeping the entire planning experience seamless for my clients.
My favorite part is watching it all come together—the details we’ve carefully chosen, the vision we’ve spent months creating, and finally seeing my clients step into their celebration and simply enjoy the moment they’ve been dreaming about.

Laura Detwiler – Owner, Executive Planner, & Designer
My team and I have had the privilege of planning weddings and events at some of the area’s most iconic venues, including The Ringling Museum of Art, Selby Gardens, the Powel Crosley Estate, The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota, The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort, Longboat Key Club, and The Vinoy Resort & Golf Club, along with many other celebrated properties throughout Sarasota and the Tampa Bay area.
My goal is simple: to give you complete peace of mind throughout the planning process so that when your wedding day arrives, you can be fully present, enjoy every moment, and celebrate with the people you love most.

Assistant Planner
Kristin has been with LDE for 3 years now and is a Sarasota native.Her favorite part of the process is bringing the vision to life on the actual wedding day styling the florals, steaming the linens, putting menus out, curating the mood boards, and creating the table designs that tie every detail together
RYDA STEGENGA
Lead Bridal Concerge & Assistant Planner
Ryda has been with LDE for 4 years now and originally from the NE before moving to this warm weather.
She has an incredible instinct for knowing what a bride needs—sometimes before she even has to ask. From keeping wedding-day essentials organized and making sure the emergency kit is ready, to holding a bride’s dress perfectly during portraits or making a last-minute run for her favorite snack, she is always one step ahead.

Skylar has been with LDE for 2 years now and is the newest perfect addition.
She understands that exceptional wedding day support is about more than checking items off a timeline. It’s about noticing the little things, anticipating needs, and being ready to step in wherever she’s needed to make sure our couples feel completely taken care of. Her positive calm nature is perfect for all brides.

Originally from Michigan, Ashley knew she wanted to move to Sarasota and be a wedding planner after LDE actually planned her own wedding at Powel Crosley Estate 4 years ago!
Known for her eye for design, she thoughtfully pulls together inspiration, textures, and curated details to create a cohesive Design Presentation that reflects each client’s vision and personal style.
